e3 was definitely fun.
just got back about 20 minutes ago.. drive back was definitely more pleasant than the drive down to LA. I've got ~120 photos (and a few short vids of the black hawk rope-dropping troops and the DOA Girls).
it's gonna take me another few days to get the photos sorted and uploaded (b-day in two days~), but i'll have them up soon.

definitely was a good time at e3, got two huge bags full of shwag, got to mingle with some developers chilling at the IGDA couches (yay for that membership), and made up my personal list of games worth keeping an eye on.

Ive watched a few of the HL2 trailers and by god they have come up with the game of the century....the physics engine that Havok have made for valve is the best I have ever seen.

I cant see any game besting it for a few years to come.

Oh and those pics look mighty fine...especially the chicks :D

I'd have to say Halo 2 won the console gaming "best booth" but Half-Life 2 won the PC games section..they had up to a 6 hour wait just to try out the revolutionary new physics and game play engines, and i'm already drooling for em.

And yes, I'll be buying Halo 2 also the day it comes out

I will post a bundle of E3 babe pics soon, my camera was running out so I figured, I'd best get the pics I really want! And, my game was displayed to all the major publishers and they seemed to like it. I have got plenty of business cards and they all have demo packs... hopefully I will get a deal soon...

Oh, and E3 is a trade only event. Not public. But some slip through. It is a good show. But tiring. With all going to plan, my company will have a stand next year.

digitalp1mp
05-18-2003, 12:09 AM
it was thursday from 12:00 till whenever, i left after a couple hours, it was invite only, and all the free liquor u wanted, but if u didnt go downstairs and talk to Kelcy and Mark from Discreet then u prob would have never known about it D:

:edit: Oh, and it was in Room 409, The "business" rooms and such

So had i went (like i planned) on flying up for the day and just getting the free ticket... what all could i have done?

I wanna know if it is worth going if you don't buy the big packages

digitalp1mp
05-18-2003, 01:58 AM
Oh hell yea its worth goign if you dont buy the big packages, I dont even kno what the packages were for, but i was there with a friend who owns a 22x system Gaming center here in tulsa www.strikenet.us , but we had stuff setup with www.igames.com, so we basically chilled went to the expo looked aroudn filmed took pictures, and talked to alot of game producers. He had some appointments setup with Americas Army developers ie The Army, and hes getting sponsored by the Army and stuff, but E3 is worth going if you dotn buy those packages. I just went downstairs, to the area with the developers that dont want 2 spend alot of money on big booths, or just dotn have developers, and i talked to discreet and got the hookup with the and i talked to take 2 interactive and got hooked up with them 2, just go and talk 2 people and you will be amazed @ the stuff they throw at you, sorry for the long post :D

:edit: I got to play the new Metal Gear solid, your avatar reminded me it rocked :buttrock:

u liked twin snakes? when i played it at the nintendo booth, it was stuttering like crazy, and the controls were all wierd. in the old metal gear, u could kind of turn on a dime, in this one, its like they're trying to have him pivot on whatever foot is in the front, but he ends up just rotating all funky. it took me 3 times to get up the underwater stairs. other than that, it didn't look too shabby. i was hoping for something better. anyways, enough of my babbleing. the show rocked.

if anyone wants to see what crappy pics i took, here's a link.

Ever hear of Deus X, Halo or Unreal Tournament? UT redesigned the way we think about game engines, so i'd say that's innovative. You need to play more games to make claims like this..lol.
