I started out on Maya but have recently been doing all my modeling in Wings. It's much quick on some levels.. though I still love Maya since I feel it helps me manage my geometry better.

The one thing that keeps me going with wings though is the virtual mirror. Anyone else frustrated about how much better this feature is in a freeware program like Wings over how it's done in Maya? With Maya I always have this horrible seam to deal with when I'm done modeling.

you can select all the vertex's in the middle and weld em. Takes like 10 seconds.

Do I have to select each pair of verts seperately? I tried just grabbing them all down the seam and it merged all of them into 1.

Use the option box for the weld command and set your distance tolerance lower.

i usually work with a tolerance of .001 and then i also make sure texture setting is turned OFF so the Uvs dont get welded.

If u just click the Merge Poly Border...this should suffice as well....that way u dont need anything more then the object selected. And if the border doesnt close...do it a second time.
