How can i obtain better and realistic cloth simulation than the one show in the picture?? I start with a poly-plane 15 and 15 subdivision... then i convert him to a cloth object, fixed some vertex to a locator (weight=1) and then animate the locator... some vertex at the top of the "curtain" are attached to a steady locator. I really want to avoid sharpness, but i haven't find any attribute to improve the resolution. I never use "is soft" attribute.. (?) what he do?
The manual (F1) is a bit confusing, i think...

If someone know a good tutorial to do an OPEN CURTAIN simulation with maya cloth... Please let me know!

If you can help it, you want to create your cloth from a pannel (NURBS curves, then Cloth>create pannel ((or garmet if thats your only cloth object)))

If you convert from an existing poly object, you usually end up with artificial wrinkle lines beign created because of the way the mesh is regularly tesselated. Maya cloth perfers a random non-repeating tesselation to avoid these stressed lines...

Just my two bits...
