hi im new with 3ds max and i have a problem with viewing the material im using. i can see the material when a render the file but i cant see it any where else. i need to use a picture for reference. i used it on a plain but i just cant see it when im making the object.

sorry if i posted in the wrong place im new here too

can anyone help me??

in the material editor select your material, click on diffuse map slot, then load your picture.

then there is a little icon just below where the materials are displayed that says "show map in viewport" when you rollover. press that. it is a little blue and white cube.
