CGTalk - 'growing' a loft

Hi, im trying to figure out how to grow a shape along a path.
I have my shape and i have created a loft along a path with 'get path'. How can i animate this to look like its growing?

You may also wish to look into the PathDeform modifier. The help file has a lesson on how to create a 'growing vine' using this modifier which sounds like it might be what you're looking for.
