Hi.. I'm using vector artwork in AE; some of it is imported from Illustrator files, and some of it is type generated from AE.

My problem is, I need to make big zoom-ins and zoom outs, and when I zoom way in, my artwork appears pixelated as if it was a bitmap image.

Since I'm working with vectors, I figure there must be a way to tell AE to display them correctly regardless how close the camera is, right? (I don't want to make my composition size any larger, it's already thousands of pixels wide and high).

Thanks for any pointers you may be able to give me.

Edit: Likewise, if I scale my imported vectors to something bigger than 100%, it also pixelates the image, treating it as if it was a bitmap. I also want to get around that.

Found it in a tutorial -- looks like I have to have the continously rasterize option switched on for the layers of my vector art, that way AE will rasterize my vectors for every frame, regardless of how large it's scaled. And supposedly, type layers always rasterize continously by default.

Now, I'm noticing there's a limit for this; if I scale my vector art to 200%, it still appears sharp and clear, but at 300%, it gets pixelated too. Guess I'll make everything bigger to start with.

That shouldn't be happening. A vector should scale infinitely.

Thanks, I figured it out finally. You're right, and that wasn't the problem. I had to activate "collapse transformations" when working with a composition within another composition, that was the key.
