Hi folks,

I have been a little puzzled re the noise in some of the areas of V-ray renders. I have pottered around with sampling settings (etc), and get different types of noise (!); but I just cannot shake it. I have no doubt that I am just doing something utterly, and as I am new to V-ray I am sure I will be forgiven for asking!

Using Max 9 with V-ray 1,5.

In a nutshell am using Adaptive QMC, min subdivs=1, max=8. Use QMC sampler thres de-activated, and Clr thres sitting at 0.005.

See "Color mapping" rollout and check all boxes.

The best place for answers to these kinds of questions is at the Chaos forums.

try increasing the reflect subdivisions in your material editor. that usually gets rid of noise on shiny materials

Thanks everyone for your feedback. The Color Mapping change already made a huge difference! Amazing software - so much to learn! Cheers.
