Will sketch and toon output to vector files?

I especially like the look of the thick/thin outline rendering.....can this be output to vector or strictly bitmap?

If Sketch and Toon won't output to vector is there a solution anyone know?

Thanks.

yes it can be saved as .ai file.
sometimes this has some artefacts, so it might need some manual cleaning(for more complex things)

cheers

Outstanding!.......any possibility someone has a small sketch and toon images saved out in .ai format?

I'd like to be able to have a look at it before I commit.

should have come to the adobe integration tour when it was in van ;) We covered this in the presentation.

If you get a free account to cineversity Rick has the adobe integration tour video for exporting to illustrator and flash in the tutorial and it should have files too.http://www.cineversity.com/tutorials/lesson.asp?tid=1177

I didn't know about the tour.

I will check out the video. Thanks.

Good seeing the video though unfortunately the .ai export does not support any of the modifiers so thick/thin lines will not be exported accurately. Kind of a deal breaker for me unfortunately.

Thanks for the help.

I did try the auto trace tool in Illustrator CS and that along with Brazil4Rhino toon shader thick/thin output gave me what I needed.

As another option you might try Swift 3D v5. You can import your C4D models to it then apply pencil styles thin/thick lines globally or to individual objects and render out to .ai, .swf, .svg or .eps

You can choose thickness of lines plus angle. Plus you have choice of 2, 4, full and gradient rendering.

I have done a quick import and render of the figure model from C4D. I applied the material colours in C4D before importing to Swift 3D, but you can also do this inside of Swift 3D.

I used all different styles, colours as an example. You will note in the swf version it also has reflections on the left forearm and text.

The AI / flash (vector) output from C4D has numerous issues. I've written to Maxon a few times but without reply or acknowledgement.

I compiled a list of problems in this thread:

Although the thread is mostly about isometric output, you can see the results of S&T with illustrator using thick and thin lines.
