I don't think you can project curves on poly like you would do on nurbs.
Yet you can draw your curve directly on your poly if you turn it to live (the small magnet icon next to the snap icons).

seb4d yes your right
but i was wondering if like Lightwave you could literaly "drill" a 2d shape over a polygon and extrude\bevel your object.
Thats the best damn thing about Lightwave, there's the same option in Max its called "shapemerge" pretty handy if you wanna greeble things up

I agree max' s shapemerge is pretty handy.
Have you tried to look for a mel script at highend3d ?

Here's what im talking about
I can use the 'Drill tool in Lightwave to project shapes on a polygon
i start out with any polygon, in this case i used a box

No you really cant do anything like that in Maya that I know of. That's a pretty cool feature. But Maya's renderer would make a mess of that extrusion.

Really cool. I know Lightwave is really good in polygon modeling. I hope Maya can project curve on polygon as well.
:)
looks like a nice tool! :D
hmmm any other really neat LW tools I dunno about? :p
