Would you please give us an example of what you're trying to do.
Do you want use pfx on an allready rendered environment?
:surprised

I want to render my 3D scene with renderlayer. (My Z-depth is antialiased, via the fogtrick rendert in a seperatet File)
and let the compositetool decide via Z-depth what is at the front and whats in the back
( I don't want a DOF, please no DOF Tips )
The problem is, that without a Z-Coverage channel it is impossiple ( please correct me if it is wrong )
to put 2 objects on top of each other, and have antialias Edges, if the Z-depth decides witch is on top.
Info: my Z-depth is certainly

Ok,
If I can see what you mean; you're seaching a tool which can handle the Z channel?
Do you have a node "Z-compose" or 2nd choice "Z-key" lin your compositing tool?
My Z-depth is antialiased, via the fogtrick That sounds interresting, I'd like to know more about fogtrick!;)

No, because the "Z-Coverage" ist not the Z-buffer ( or Z-channel ).
the "Z-Coverage"-Channel indicates where pixels contains to or more Objects ( the AA-area).
the Fogtrick:
1.under renderGlobals-->RenderOptions turn 'ON' Environment FOG.
2.create a lambert and turn it to black.
3.Assign the shader to all geometry in your scene.
render :-) You need only the RGB-Channels.
invert the images in composite and switch the luma-channel in to Z-depth

To make a detection of the AA area you might compare the luma-channel with a true Z-key. Ok you don't want to re-render; get it quickly with a Hardware-rendering.
What you're trying to do 's not easy!
BTW thanx for the fogtrick!

whats a Z-key?
<< Ok you don't want to re-render; get it quickly with a Hardware-rendering.>>
Mhhh no, rerender is ok. I only want
the AA-edges if 2 objects on top of each other and the Z-depth decides witch is on
top. :-)
I give you to images with a RGB A and Z
and then make a Z-compose. And you will
see :-))

Sorry, the Job has called :-)
the 2 images:
Example.zip (http://www.powerflasher.de/temp/Example.zip)
take one layernode in Fusion, shake.....
and make a Z-Compose, and then..... scratch your brow :-)
have a nice WE

To make the detection of the AA area I also need the fogtrick picture....
Anyway, let's work with what we have.

Hi rollmops
for what the Fogtrick picture?
the fogimage is my faked Z-Channel.
and i have inverted this image-->
and put it together in one file with the RGBA Channel. So you have allready the fogimage in the exsisting file.
