Digital Tutors had some last year, are they going to be doing it again?

Try sending them an email (probably). Also contact your vendor or reseller for whatever you use and ask for Exhibition only tickets.

Digital Tutors is already giving free pases for the exhibition floor:

Any idea if these passes also get you into the Job Fair?

As far as I know, you wouldn't be able to get into the job fair. The passes the vendors give out are only for the exhibition floor.

I could be wrong though.

I just registered with Digital Tutors but usually you can upgrade for $40 to an exhibits plus pass for the job fair. Does anyone know anything about obtaining that?

You can just purchase it online (http://www.siggraph.org/s2008/attendees/registration/) (at the SIGGRAPH website) or onsite, cost is $45.

Ok, I'm new to this type of event. What is the difference between the exhibit and exhibit plus pass. I know one is free, and one cost 40 dollars more. But what is the main difference?

There's no Exhbiti Plus category this year, you only have basic and full conference. There is no $40 pass anyway.

An exhibits pass as being referred here are the ones usually given out by vendors so you can attend the Exhibition Floor. That's all.

The basic pass gives you access to the exhibition floor plus most conference activities like the art gallery, studio, job fair etc. but it excludes the animation festival and most conference presentations (papers, panels, talks, etc.).

The closes one to $40 is a one day basic pass for $45. More info here of what you can access:

There is also an 'animation festival' ticket which covers the new version of the Electronic Theater (RIP) and includes the exhibit floor. I bought three days at $50/day (or $200 full) as a non-member.

The siggy site is hard to find anything on.

Hate to bump an old thread, but I wanted to know the final word, if anyone ever found out if these free passes would get one into the job fair. Would that be classified under the "Basic Access" plan?

Thought I would note that my firm Trinity3D.com has about 40 passes or so for our booth 1437 at Siggraph. Email me at jim (@) trinity3d.com if you need a pass and I'll send the information to you as long as I have codes. BTW this should definitely get you into the job fair!
