Here are some of the matte paintings I did for the HBO minis series John Adams. I have yet to see the mini series, but I am very happy to have been part of such a great project. I hope everyone enjoys.

I mean, how to make that leafs being bold? deleting them one by one?
and hom to make the road being snowed? just using color correction or what?

Hellol Gerak,

I think I understand your question. On that painting the snow was painted from scratch, and the tree was rebuilt with some images of mine. I kept as much of the tree as I could from the original plate and then added in the new branches. Hope I answered your questions.

great work as useal Brandon! this look totally beliavable, what's the resolution u use for the matte paintings? hope you can share some of your technique with all of us.

Wow, those are some killer samples. Thanks for posting them.

I haven't seen that many modern matte plates in a while and it's good to see the "put the greenscreen only where you need it" technique put to good use. How was your experience in pulling mattes from those areas? Would you have done anything different for the plates if you could?

I thought the plates were set up great for painting. I'm not to sure what the compositers thought, because in the end they are the ones pulling the keys. It's easy enough to do it in photoshop.
