Hi,
i'd like to purchase a second Display since i'd like to move some Stuff from Maya / Photoshop since i'm a graphic artist too and color my pencil art with it (and random other stuff like browser, icq..) onto it.

Currently i'm using a 30" Dell 3007 wfpHC (i thought having a large one instead of 2 smaller is better) so now i'm thinking.. would it be better to buy a second 20" one and pivot it? Or sell the 30" and buy 2 * 24" like the 2431 Eizos and work with those.

So far i like the 30" but it is a bit on the large-large side :) The corners are a little bit darker than the center but normally i don't notice it.

I don't know if a second pivoted(!) 20" 4:3 TFT is a good choice for a 2nd display for 2d/3d work :-/ Especially since the pixel pitch on the 30/20 combo is 0.25 and the 24" do have 0.27 which i never have used before i think. I always had the smaller pixel pitch so i really don't know if its more relaxing to work with a pixelpitch of 0.27 or even the 0.285 of the NEC 2690, which i also like and thought about (using it witch the 2190uxp) ;)

What would you prefer, or what do you work with right now?

I use a 21" and a pivoted 19" side by side and find it rather usefull.

Cheers

i would get a 2nd dell 20inch and tilt it to the side, it's excatly as tall as the 30inch sitting flat. Would be a perfect bitch monitors to hold menu's and what not.

I see you`re using a similar Combo. Are you using ZBrush by any Chance? How`s your Performance on the 30" monster? I want to buy a new PC in the next few Month too and in the Moment i cannot use it really well since the Framerate is horrific, especially with this resolution x_x (one thing to mention is, that my current PC is ~4 years old and only with a 7600GT)

i am using the mac pro, and a 1900xt which is more than enough to handle the 30 inch, i think the 7600 should be good with the 30inch as well. You shouldn't have too much flickering issues with it.

The 7600gt drives the 30" but the performance is not that great. It was just a quick solution until i have a better PC :) As i said, ZBrush doesn't really work performance-wise ^^

I would always prefer two smaller one of the same size side by side over one large screen.
I use two monitors one wide panel and one crt for colour correct work.
