the image is too big to view as a single image, I mean I have to pan to see the other side of the image :D , the image looks cool though, I think you got a nice peaceful mood, in my opinion some of the elements looks painted rather than photoreal, I think this is because of how light react on the textures and surfaces, you need some bump or displacement in the surfaces so it looks more natural and with this give a little imperfection , I would try to get as much photographic reference and compare with what you have now, to see if the architecture lighting matches the light conditions you have

Yeah, I agree with Jaime, it's a good start, just needs some texture and lighting work. Nice job though! :)

I agree with the above, also all of the edges are way to sharp, if you added chip and uneven surfaces would help the image a lot.

Woah dont chip please, the original stone work was crisp and even when constructed, it takes nearly a thousand years of erosion to chip and weather the stone work. It has to look new as it was new.
You could prehaps soften the linear parts of the image by including fabrics and foliage. Or dare I say it street litter, dung straw puddles etc,
I really like this
Love to see more

Forgot spider webs,
Uh spider webs, bear with me if you draw using white rough spider web shapes cut and paste into the shadow areas where the water meets, lower opacity or use overlay. You get really cool water reflections on the stone wall where water has reflected the sunlight.
Just thought I would share a tip

My critique, take out the people and fire, then it'll be close to a matte painting :D Blend the water edge a little better between the CG and photo, in fact do one or the other maybe. Dirt up some of the forground CG, break up the hard edges a little.
Over all nice and simple
Dave.

Thanks Dave, good point, but I'd love to keep fire and people for drama and scale. I'll post result soon, now I'm working on breakdown.
I really like what you did with British Museum, as well as mood in "Wasteland", "Atlantis" has charisma too. Did you have a chance to see “Astoria”, http://www.vfxtalk.com/portfolios/showphoto.php/photo/496/ppuser/8113
Thanks for advice:beer:
