has anyone had any success using mayas joint rotation limit damping?
i have set up a test scene with 2 identical joints, each with a single chain IK solver, the solvers are grouped and moved,
both joints have limits set of 30 degrees.
so as the ik handles move past the limits of the joints the joints come to a suddden stop, right.
this is where the joint rotation limit damping is needed to ease the rotations in and out... so i set the damping attributes on 1 of the rigs..leaving the other alone to compare the results to. And it moves exactly the same as the other (original) joint. ie the damping is doing nothing.
my settings are, min damp range = 20
max damp range = 20
min damp strength = 100
min damp strength = 100
