View Full Version : Wiring in a local coord sys.

Hi there,
i got a problem during wiring,here it is:

imagine a box is rotated in the scene like this:[45,0,0]
now if i go to move it in a local position it x_position is not Hirozential or Vertical it's something between these twe,
now i need to wire x_position to a z_position of the other object in the scene but i can't do it becoz MAX looks at its World coord sys not the local one.

so how can i do a wire in a local position as i said above?
was wondering if you guys could help me doing this isuue.

If you go in the motion panel, set a key to your rotated box, then change the value in 'Key Info (Basic)', it'll move along the world. Now align a helper to the box, and link the box to it. If you move the x value again, it'll move along its relative space. Now you can wire your x axis to your target's z axis like normal.
