I have been trying not to just say wow and try to add relavent comments but I can't think of anything to change. It looks real good.
It's really nice so far, but you need to add color to the sun.

Very pretty. But if the sun was that low on the the horizon the scene would have a redish, orangish, pinkisk light. Is that an Ozone atmosphere?

AdamT:
i know that it should have those colours, but this way it looks more "cold", anyways, it's not an Ozone atmosphere, but only a fog material, and a couple of planes with a noise as clouds.

i agree, the color does convey a very cold feeling
could be some sorta explosion. But its cold scene why not use a cold light? Just kidding folks any way.
I would love to know how you made the textures for the ground ie the snow and the dirt and all that stuff.

Very nice. Without the title though I would have thought it was an explosion. The inner radius of the lighe is so big that it really doesn't look like a sun to me. Kinda reminds me of the opeing scene from Atlantis. Still...great pic. Did you use the "Highlights" effect in post?

"Swedish Sunrise" sounds like a killer drink.

Very nice image, I love the glare on the bottom right. I think it would be even better if the snow did not quite reach the water line and you saw some bare rock where the water washed over it.

VestanPance: yes, i used the highlights effect!
JIII: Well for the rock i used a simple 3DNoise in the colour, bump and dispalacement channel; Snow is almost the same, but i used a distorted Falloff in the Alpha channel.
Sky is a fog shader, Clouds are a multylayer 2DNoise, water is made out using the "water" shader!

Nevermind, looks great. I was questioning the light hitting the peak in the foreground. It look as if it would be impossible because, it seems to me, its physically higher than the sun and would have more shadow. BUT...who's to say that there isnt' a peak illuminating it from behind....plus it would detract from the composition altogether.
nice job.
