Hi Brandon,

It'll be nice if you also make them all in Non streaming
format. For those of us (me :( ) with slooooww
connection, is very difficult to see them in streaming.
(Yeah there's still people like me using slow dial up here).

You know like those .wmv format is OK.

It'll be great if you could have them in downloadable format.

Thank you,

thanx & regards

hey gaggle

thanx dude completely missed that one :p

Howdy folks !

Just a quick one, from all i've been seing on PFlow, i was wondering if it was or will be possible to maybe save / load a specific flow ?
So that one could create a particular flow and could somehow pass it around, or share it.

Now i don't quite know if this sounds completely silly, if it may already be in there, or will never be ? I understand that it is much scene dependant, as it relies on Forces and Deflectors, so i don't know, maybe these could get exported along (?) or asked for/notified when a flow is loaded ?

What i'm thinking is really basic sharing of (premade) flows, say you've got this nice rain emission set up all with little trails, droplets and whatever, if flows could be saved basically anyone would use this nice rain stuff (or whatever) ?

I guess it might not apply for every situation, might be really usefull for very "generic" effects, or might even be a lot more of a hassle that i can think, so tell me : )

Good question.

Basically, all PFlow Actions (Source, Operators and Test) are Max objects - some even create a gizmo in the scene (to let you specify directions, positions etc.) So the best way to give someone a flow would be to save these objects as MAX file and give it away - one could merge or open the file and look at / use the flow...

Note that MAXScripts used by the Scripted Actions are embedded in the PFlow objects and don't have to be saved externally - they travel with the MAX scene...

In addition, MAXScript access would allow to create a script that would traverse a PFlow and create a scripted description of the flow structure. (I wrote such a script that is almost ready and works not unlike BackFromFive. Not public yet.) Executing the script would recreate the complete flow.

Last but not least, Discreet made sure EVERY SINGLE ACTION on PFlow is MacroRecordable, so you could enable MacroRecorder, create some flow and then copy the output to a new script file which would recreate the flow when executed...

For now, I would suggest using the MAX file format to share flows...

Indeed, sharing the max scene is obvious
I guess it's the neat interface that had me thinking of saving loading custom .pfw or something : )

Thanks for the explanation though, and the more i see of it, the more it seems indeed to have been well done and thought - cheers to the people involved !
