I was planning out a 3d animated short and one of the parts requires a dolly zoom shot, but I don't know how to create that effect on Maya.

For those of who don't know what is a dolly zoom, it's when the camera moves towards a zoomed in object at the same time as zooming out or the camera moving away from the object while zooming into the object. Here is a compilation of dolly zooms in movies.

Hello

You answered your own question, a dolly is a camera move, so that is what you'll do in this case

Thank you for the advice, but it's not what I wanted. What I didn't know was how to zoom in and out of a shot.

Luckily, I had a friend who knew how to do it.

don't think of it as zooming just think of it and discuss it as changing the focal length of the lense.

As andrewhawk says, its about focal length. Just do your zoom and change the focal length and youll have your dolly zoom.
