Hi,
I just got a dell 24" widescreen lcd(1920 x 1200) and hooked it up through DVI to my machine(wildcat4 7110 card) and when i click the settings tab for display, 1920 x 1200 is not available. it only goes up to 1600 x 1200, i have to go through the advance settings and select "generic monitor" instead of plug and play to force 1920 x 1080.

my question is if anyone has experience with these cards and if they do offer widescreen support. i grabbed the drivers from here by the way: http://www.3dlabs.com/content/Legacy/drivers/driverSelect.asp (http://www.3dlabs.com/content/Legacy/drivers/driverList.asp)

im guessing its the card, since its out of date with no support for years. im upgrading to a quadro 980 xgl soon by the way, im sure it supports that resolution.

thanks for any help/advice.

heres my machine specs by the way:
ibm intellistation z-pro 6221 w11
2.4 xeon
2 gigs ram
74 gig scsi
wildcat4 7110 card
24" dell

Yeah I'd guess the card too...we're talking about a graphics card that was built when the only widescreen that people saw was at the cinema. :D

According to the datasheet here (http://www.3dlabs.com/legacy/Datasheets/wc4.pdf) it supports 1920x1200 @ 85hz but without AA.

Have you tried the official 3dlabs drivers?: http://www.3dlabs.com/content/Legacy/drivers/driverSelect.asp

yes, all three drivers ive tried. even uninstalling the card, reinstall.

my 980xgl card should be here in a few days, problem solved.

thanks for the input though, appreciated.

hmm...still seems a shame though, it's quite a hefty card even by todays standards.

Stupid question but have you installed the monitor's drivers?

maybe you can use powerstrip to get the desired resolution from your card.
