View Full Version : Making Sparks?
alphatron 04-21-2002, 12:53 AM Greetings.. I would like to know a way of creating some nice looking sparks without using the hardware renderer. It's the type of sparks created when metal is dragged along concrete.
If anyone can posts some tips or a link to a tutorial, it would really be appreciated.
Thanks!

I don't know why hardware render particles don't work for you since that's the best way to do it. You would get the best looking sparks you could ever have. However, you can try instanced little spheres or blobby S/W particles with motion blur and an appropiate shading applied to them and some glow. It's much slower but you can achieve what you are looking for with that.

Thanks,
Can't really use the HW renderer because I have to render the scene from many different camera angles.. would take to long to do it all twice, especially if I need to go back and rerender stuff.
