Hi,
I posted this on highend as well, so sorry if you check those boards out as well

i'm just having an issue with file sizes in maya4.5

my latest scene size is 100mb

seems a bit large i think and i was wondering if there is anything i can do to sort it all out

I've tried optimising my scene but that does really help at all

i'll list a few things in my scene:
lo poly objects (head, torso, arms and legs)
hi poly version of lo poly
blends for the head
some blends for the body and legs
and my rig
if there's not enough info there i'll post more

thanks!!

Phil

I think you can try 2 things:
Import the scene into a new file or save it as an ASCII file (.ma) and take a look in a text editor to see if you can spot something weird.

depends on how your high poly object looks.. some 100.000 polies that have no more history (not smoothed from a low poly object) can very easily result in a scene that huge..
is it an .ma or .mb file?

if .ma you can save as .mb to save disk space..
