View Full Version : Whats wrong with my shadows? (3ds Max)

Hello CG Society,

This is just something that I've never seen before- Where the shadows look like they should be cast, there is a patch that is shadow free.
Well, check the image to see what I'm talking about.

This is from just one of the lights in my scene, (the others are turned off). Below is the lighting parameters that I have.

Can someone please give an explanation/suggestion as to what's going on?

I'm using the Mental Ray Renderer.

I guess you need to change the shadow color to a darker tone, maybe your light just not as bright as the shadow color you have so it turns out brighter then the lit part?
