i cant seen to find it anywhere in the help

there's an modifier named "reactor attach to RB" ( rigid body )... apply one of those to the rope and select the animated object and select the vertices you want to link the rope :beer:

it didnt work
let me run through this
animated sphere
line drawn coming out the side at frame 0
apply reactor rope to line
create rope collection....add spline
create rigid bodie add sphere
spline select modifier to line....select end vertex
then apply the attach to rigid body
is this set up right.....im sure im missing something
cant find a tutorial anywhere

i was checking the rope example that comes with max and the modifier stack was like this:
reactor rope
splineselect
normalize spl.
helix
well i tried attaching to RG but no luck
if someone can help this guy.. now i'm curious too. :)

that works
but can i recreate it?....can i hell
even if i open you file...which works...create my own sphere
add it to the rbcollection...select it through the attach to rb
it just doesnt work
what vital stage am i missing
im going to kick myself i know it

There wasn't missing secret step. Just make sure the animated sphere has unyield property(utilities,reactor,properties/other properties)

it's also important that you select the "attach to rigid body" modifier from the modify panel of your spline/rope.
you cannot attach ropes with the standalone modifier from the reactor toolbar! this one only works with cloth and softbodies

i been following this and downloaded the rope.zip, and still no luck...whats wrong with me :-(

Make sure the sphere has some mass assigned to it. If it's set to 0, it won't move.
