Majority shareholder Infogrames has finally purchased the beleaguered developer (http://www.gamedaily.com/articles/news/infogrames-to-the-rescue-merges-with-atari-in-11m-deal/?biz=1) Atari Games.
It will now be a wholly owned subsidiary of Infogrames.

Wow, I thought Infogrames already ate the whole of Atari up years ago...

In fact, didn't they re-brand the whole company as 'Atari'? I remember seeing all of the people with 'retro' Atari t-shirts & wondering if they knew that they are advertising an exisitng company.

Atari getting bought is like when you hear of some old actor dying and the first thing you think is, "I thought he was already dead?"

Speaking of, is Abe Vigoda still alive?

you have to remember atari=video games atari kicked the whole thing off in the 70's so their 'name' or brand name has a definate 'value' no matter what.

Atari's name still holds clear use, especially in the casual gamer market. They just need a clear direction and some hits to move forward.

BTW, I often refer to coffee I've made as Wajahovitz mud. :)
