View Full Version : Animating A Buggy? HOW?
rquinn 05-15-2003, 06:06 AM I made this war buggy kinda like a mix between a dune buggy and a hummer with millitary mods of course
now I want to make it roll around
now how do I do that? like make the whole thing move with the wheels rolling properly and the front wheels turning and the suspension damping and all anyone can tell me?
thx in advance

if you have max 5 then use reactor, as this has a buggy dynamic set up already. it can be modified to suit.
check your help files. if you are running max 4 things become a lot more difficult.

as there have been very long threads devoted to car animation, i think your question is a little too general ;)
search for car stuff on this forum, you should find a lot of useful information.. some time ago a script was developed in here that should help you a lot. BUT don't make the mistake to think that this can be done somehow automatically, what you wrote in your post sounded a little like you did. the builtin reactor stuff might help, but i heard it's not all that sophisticated / useful.
so there will be a lot of by-hand-animation involved.

maybe i never used the car reactor things properly....but i found it very limited
trying to get it to go in a striaght line or a specific curve is well tough
its more of a wind up toy car on a slippery floor simulator
