Original thread here:
Which will be updated with textures and stuff, here though, will be animations.
For today I've started on the basic Ollie. Looking for some critique on this and I'll keep posting new tricks and various other animations here for critique.

Not a bad start there mate :)

The tail doesn't actually touch the ground in your animation. Also the front
foot is sliding back as he crouchs down, have you got video reference? Cause
your gonna need it. Unless you've skated before it's gonna be hard to do this.

Though it looks like you know how the ollie works :) I've been skating for 14 years
do you want me to film some reference footage of a stationary ollie for you?
Come on, please say yes.

Looking good.

Oh yeah, I've got tons of videos. I've been skating for 2-3 years or something and i've got videos of stationary as well as tricks in motion. I've worked on this quite sometime last night and decided to post even though I had more to fix when I went to bed. To see if some one had a comment when I woke up.

Can't hurt to have reference of someone else's style and tricks though. If you do have time I'd really like some videos :)

Took a break from the skate and did a backflip :)
Again reference was used (not myself doing it this time though) and I went pretty much frame by frame to get it right.
Also fixed the problems like the tail on the ollie as you mentioned Lewis.

Trace your arc for the hip/COM. It looks off to me.
One thing to keep in mind is that with any flipping, be it
forward or backward, your center of mass is not going to
remain solely with the hip. As you tuck up to rotate your
bodys COM changes, so that's what is making the flip look off.

Best thing to do is to parent the hip/COM to a null object that you
can freely position to the actual center of mass during the flip.

I'm more of an inline sk8 myself so I don't really know exactly how to do that Olie but what i do know for sure is that you need to have some more anticipation when he croutches down, so slight up, then come down fast, hold, then BOOM up there... give it some hang time then come down fast again! work on your timing a little more to show weight.

Lewis is right about the backflip, you either will have to parent it to something or fake it. also watch his body, right now it goes forward then backwards in midair. His point of landing should be further back because his momentum is carrying him quite backwards.

Ollie updated.
Timing has been slighty changed now. Of course depending on what he'll do the timing will be different, if he has to make a big jump he'd have to snap the tail faster and bend down quite early. This is just a base animation.
Since it will be the base for pretty much all tricks I need this one done before I'll be starting on other animations. So, anyone got some comments or something else to fix on the ollie?
