If anyone's interested,

here's link to Honda's car fact book.

http://www.honda.co.jp/factbook/auto/

It has almost every Honda vehicles from the beginning up to now :)

Just flip through the pages by clicking 'next' buttons and you'll get to the page with 4 views of the vehicle :)

bgreg03: Thank you :D

I guess the model right now would look short because it's missing the doors and the rear...

Sorry for such low quality images...

Though this way of posting images is a lot more reliable than free web accounts (Since I don't have homepage :p)

You've got a good front!
Were is the rest of the body? It seem to be good too, so why it's not in the render?

Keep it up and finish that car man!

DAMN...I screwed up bigtime when working on this up till now, that I have to model the whole rear part again (or have major fix on it at least)!!!

Sez: Thank you :)
Those renderings were done when I was getting sick of modeling, wanting to see how the model look thus far with some decent material and background. (So it was done before the whole body was modelled)
I needed to practice using HDRI environment anyways, so it's all good :D

The exterior modelling is almost done.

Even though it's not that noticable, the rear part has been modeled fresh :p

Comments, critiques, PLEASE :bounce:

Thank you for all the comments, guys! :)

I really appreciate them.

Recently I couldn't work on this because of upcoming final exams, so expect some update sometime later next week ;)

Great car, but the front looks a lil 'squished' in my n00bish opinion

Great car though!

but the front looks a lil 'squished' in my n00bish opinion

Yes, that's true. Unfortunately, it can't be fixed with my level of technique :thumbsdow

I had some issues regarding meshsmooth and stuffs, so I guess I'll just satisfy for making it 'close enough' to the blueprint...:p

Thank you for pointing that out. :)

Add some crazy DoF and your front will look enormous :)

Nce car overall. As with evrycar I see made in 3D, I expect some crazy Fast and Furious Ricer mods on this baby. Like a body kit, rims, and lowering. Maybe some stickers if you want to rice it up some more lol.

heiyuu - Hey, actually, I'm thinking of designing my own body kit after I finish making the stock version. But I won't go for aerodynamic-overused exagerration that makes you to have bitter smile and say 'eww'. Instead, I'll try to make something that makes you say 'cool'. :p

...And I'm saying this without having almost no knowledge on bodykits :D

Lookin good man. I think you can improve the lighting though =). Give something for the car to reflect , just an idea though...
The bodykit is a sweet idea.

great job mwkmn.. looks really good.. maybe make an environment also? would be cool.. :)

mwkmn, very good job, well done.

Bodykit would look cool as well as lowering springs, 22" rims, nitrous, neon hover lights, huge ICE install....mmmmm:thumbsup:

I drive a 2000 Civic Coupe, which doesn't look too disimilar to this fine model, you may have given me the inspiration to get the blues out fpr it now.

Sonix.

Thanks for the comments regarding my 'Morris', much appreciated.

I dont think 22" rims would fit on that car unless you some crazy fender "enlargement", also, the wheels probably wouldnt turn right. You would also have to "raise" the cars suspension to fit those. For some reason Hondas have really really small wheel wells (which is why 17s look ok on a civic but not an eclipse)

18s are the perfect size for this car (well maybe 17 or even 16 if you're gonna do some rallying "in the winter") and 18s fit the latest trends. I dont think you could fit 19s or anything above on a ITR without having to modify the fenders. Then again, a lot of tuners pull out their fenders to accomidate lowering or bigger wheels.

But there is not way in hell you can fit 22s on a ITR, in the real world atleast.... but then again, this is CG...

ur image compression looks unusually high... do u have a version that isn't as compressed, something a bit higher rez?

Very true, I was getting excited. :D

However, center of hub to wheel arch is 13 3/4". This would give enough room for a 22" rim with 1/2" of low profile rubber smeared around it, with no rubbing on wheel arch or inner wing.
At the sacrifice of lowering it.

Chazzi, teh fury - Yep, I'll definately make the environment when I'm done modelling the car.

sonix - And I thank YOU for commenting on my works

heiyoo - To be honest, I'm kind of lost about the rim stuff  I might need to do some research on that. Thanks!

singularity2006 - I had to compress the images so that it fits the 20000byte file size limit. Now that I have my own webspace, I'll start posting some better quality files.

Thank you for all your replys, guys!
Here's the 1600*1200 render of the car. It took 6 hours to finish!
The exterior is fully done except for windshield wipers.

First off, the model looks good, from my POV the body doesnt have enough curvature, its too flat, and so is the windshield, secondly if you where to put 22 inch wheels youd be a moron. Wheels that large will destroy the ballbearings joints and steering linkages over time, and not only that but the first pot hole you catch you'll be crying like a baby, and also when you put in more then 2 ppl in the car your fenders will rub no matter what, and third the interior after a little while will shake itself loose and rattle all the time, why? because using low profile tires takes away any compression of the sidewall of the tire to absorb any rough spot on the street so its all transferred to the car and suspension/drivetrain/steering.

Im a practical kinda guy. Get some 17 inch wheels, koneig has some nice ones for cheap, and for rubbber i suggest the Toyo proxes T1, or the H4's, or go with the Khumo Ecsta 712, very popular now adays. And FYI stay away from asymetrical tread designs, they are made for morons, why? because if you have camber and wear out the inside or outside of the tire forget about reversing the tire on the wheels so you can wear out the other side, you'll basically use half the tire and its garbage.

sorry for the OT.

These renders are pretty dark. Maybe you could pull the light more into the scene on the side we're facing.

From what I can see, the model looks very nice. Paint texture is definitely striking. The seams between your parts seem a bit too rounded tho.

Overall, some great work. Please post another render with more light on the subject

 kool stuff man...ur car looks a neato....good work ...
dont mind if i comment bout the material though...just need a bit more reflection...i know its matte finish ..but a lil glossy look would make it look more realistic...it will bring bring out the texture of polish on it..dont u think so??overall ur car looks much better than mine...heheh  keep it up man..

what do you use to render these pics ? vray, brazil or what ?

If you are using vray could you share some wisdom about the car paint material ?

mwkmn
07-05-2003, 01:46 PM
RmachucaA - Uhh, difficult stuff. Thanks for your input though, I'll try to make sense of it.

JasonA - You're right. The problem is that I'm not very familiar with using HDRI surroundings, that I can't come up with right settings. If I set the whitepoint either too low or high, it makes the whole scene look retarded :thumbsdow I guess I need some more playing-around with HDRI.

fixman - Thank you. As for the material, I think it looks dull for now because of how HDRI surrounding looks, but when I use some other background, I believe it'll look more shiny.

enzodiac - I used Brazil. Sorry, I have no knowledge on vray I can't help you out

Again, thank you for all replies!

JasonA

You can still use regular lights when using HDRI, and usually you can control you effects better that way. The one complication with using HDRI is that it assumes that all of the light contributed to the scene is the same distance from the source to the subject. So it doesn't take into account objects that might be closer to the subject (ie reflecting surfaces)

Anyways, try turning down the HDRI a bit add a key light that isn't too intense.

hi there ,
u can even try usin fake HDRI scripts available on
www.scriptspot.com ...its also called dome lights...
as i dont own either vray or brazil or mental ray.....i use this script
its pretty good...use the same method as the HDRI 4 material & all & instead of HDRI light use this script...gives the same sort of soft shadows...well not exactly the same but quiet...
