View Full Version : Fur gaps related to UV seams??? Texture jaggies?

Hi,

I'm new to this forum, so I'll just say hi first!

I've got a problem with Maya Fur. I'm having a problem, have a look at the attached image:

There is a distinct gap in the fur where the texture seam is. I've been struggling with this for a while, and assume it's something to do with the fur maps, which have very jagged edges. I'm using a fairly high texture resolution of 2048x2048, and even then the texture looks very jagged.

Not quite sure if this has anything to do with the texture?

I'm using a fairly high number of furs, 2 million to be exact...

Hey, no replies yet :(

I guess it seems the only real way to fix this is to layer fur over the seams with another piece of geometry... Could do the trick just fine...

But if anyone knows another way, i'd like to avoid having multiple fur patches all over the model...
