I, for one, and extremely excited about this, as I'm sure others who work in forensics are as well :) Anybody tried the demo yet?

The cookie tutorial (http://www.photomodeler.com/products/scanner/Tutorials/Tutorial%201.html) is pretty interesting. It would be fun to play around with this and some small maquettes or figurines.

Thanks for the link!

I guess these guys are the first ones out of the gate with 2d to 3d point cloud data?
Im wondering how much the price comes in 12 months?

I find all these Photo Modeling programs to be quite interesting, but I have to ask why is this one more expensive than some other ones I have seen?
Yea, the results in that introductory tutorial (with the cookie) were actually pretty damn good at the very end, but that is still a decent chunk of change.

XYZRGB (http://www.xyzrgb.com/) will apparently soon offer a similar service over the web.
Using this technology plus zbrush (the projection brush, retopologising, etc.) could be really powerful. I want it, seems to be a bit pricey though.

Definitely worth keeping an eye on, thanks!

Some say how pricey these programs are. But look at it from another point of view : research costs a lot of money.

The programs are actually very cheap.
