Im working on an environment scene to practice texturing techniques. Ive done well with taking textures and making them tile without any obvious repititions, but here is my question.
Im working on a factory and have a smoke stack. The cylinder looks too clean with just the concrete texture and I have a dirty smoke texture that I have made and a mask for that, to be applied near the top. How do I use the mask to apply it while keeping the underlying texture (concrete) exact.
Isn't there a way to do this in 3ds max?
I've tried textporting the wireframe and tiling the texture within photoshop but I lose the quality I need.
