Hi Ivan. Great acting men.
I love the contrast in timing, arcs and the personality that you gave to your characters.
Five stars for you...Cool work.

yeah superb animation lol - just as a daft thought - it might be worth doing one of those cuts to a new scene where on the last line "its the dead nigga in my garage" you cut to them both stood around the open trunk of the car as the character in red points to the corpse hanging out the car hehehe as the other guy looks on chirlishly :)

Hey guys,
Thanks for those comments.
Anthony, that´s a good idea, but for this work I did´nt want to move cameras or make cuts, to focus only on the animation. If You realise, there are´nt even props if they are not helping to the story, only cups or the spoons. But that would be funny... hehe
Thanks again,
Ivan.

Well, as I said in the first post the rig was made by Peter Starostin, but I modified some things to my taste.
You can find it in this website: www.3dluvr.com/clisk3d (http://www.3dluvr.com/clisk3d)
Have fun!

Hah fun clip to and very nicely animated, clear, sincere entertaining, good stuff!
Around frame 255 you`ve got the red guy reacting so nice to the black dude. Excellent.
When "red" talks, the black dude should be pretty uncomfertable shouldn`t he? yet he is calm and happily stirs his coffee. Frame591 illustrates this pretty well. I`d expect a less relaxed pose there. even mr Red could be somewhat more agressive in his pose since he is seriously unhappy with the situation.

Hey thanks again for the comments!!!
Banshax:
Yes that´s an option, maybe the first option that I had in mind, but at last I decided to let it be quiet, ilustrating that he really don´t mind, neither the dead nigga, or what the Mr Red guy is saying. Is more like... "well, he will calm down soon, so let it be" . But hey, a good point, thanks.

With a different film around it other then the live action, that
could definatly work. Rock on :]
Edit -
Just looked at your website and found out participated in the 10 second club. I even remember your piece, its such a small world. Good luck with your job hunt.

Hi dude, great little bit of animation you got going on there! The eyes are well done and really sell it. The only two things to me that stick out is when Samuel takes his elbow off the top bench, it seems to pop and when quentin says "she buys shit", that pose he seems to be too frozen and hard stop. Everything is so fluid and nice but those two areas I feel take away from it a bit. but Those are easy fixes and the whole bit looks fantastic. good work dude!

Really well animated and nice use of props. Only comments would be on the audio itself, not sure i would put a peice on my reel that could affend someone with the swearing and racial slurs. Pulp Fiction was rated R for a reason, Just would hate to see someone look past your great stuff because they thought the content was inappropriate. A bleep here or there might help, and I would probably cut before that last line.

Great animation and you got some very nice contrast in your timing! :)
My suggestion though would be to loosen it up a little, as it feels a little stiff and pose-to-pose. Add another pass with some overlap on the actions and try not to freeze up on your key poses as much, but remember to keep it alive.
Keep it up!

Superbly animated! Just wonderful. Pure pixar. Except for the dialogue of course, he he. :D
Only thing that struck me was his gesture when he says "in my garage..." The way he touches his chest implyes the line is about him, I'd have him make no gesture at all, or pointing his thumb over the shoulder, as if pointing to the garage. But hey, that's just choice, and it's the only thing I'd change in the whole thing.
Very talented stuff! (but I'll bet profanity keeps you off the front page... try a more PG-13 clip and you'll get plugged ;) )

Hey thanks for that kind of words,
To be honest I wanted to make something "thug" after almost a couple years animating for the second seasson of Pocoyo :) I really don´t mind to be plugged, as much as do what I want, at least for this time, hehehe
Hey Guys, I have a question, do You think this kind of dialogue could be offensive in other country? Or could it close me some doors? I´m spanish, here is not that offensive, is a Tarantino film, so You can expect that, and more.
Cheers,
Ivan.

Personally I'm not the least bit offended, and I bet most people feel that way.
But I think that SOME people will be offended, and if enough people THINK that other people might be offended - well then some doors are already closing. Like "I like this... but I don't think my boss will... better not call him in for an interview". Or, the boss might like it, but he doesn't think his clients will like a guy who prefers profanity in his animations, so he doesn't call you in for an interview...
There was a guy here a few years back who worked a full year on a short film that was going to be his demo reel, but it had so much profanity in it, people practically told him to start over. I think he ended up replacing the profanity with gag-reel style sound effects, as if it was censored, going for comedy instead, but it never really worked.
Personally I wouldn't upload a demo reel, animation or any other carreer-promoting material with profanity in it, simply because I'd prefer safe over sorry.
Cheers,

I think what you have is pretty good. The animation is solid, don't get me wrong, but I think the acting isn't very strong. Particularly with the Samuel L. Jackson character, the guy you animated to the voice could be more... animated... His actions are subdued and subtle... which isn't bad... but it doesn't fit the sound the clip. Also, both characters are sitting down behind a table, why not have them standing up? The character in the red shirt... he doesn't appear to be very mad... but when it's his turn to speak, he's plainly very upset, yet there's no visual reference that he's upset. He seems normal and calm, before he speaks. Again, it just doesn't fit.
I'm not saying the animation isn't good. It's really good. It's the acting of the characters doesn't match the dialogue in my humble opinion.
regarding the use of profanity for as a demo reel clip. Personally I am more interested in the quality of the animation, and this is good stuff, so I wouldn't chuck it out because of one bad word. I agree that it is a little on the grey territory, but most employers would get the reference that it's from Pulp Fiction and no that it isn't meant to be prejudiced or reflect your opinions of african americans. I think it's a funny sound clip, well animated, and despite my criticisms above, a pretty solid piece to include on your reel.
