View Full Version : 1st WIP: Y.A.F.B.

Hi. Just started in 3d. I've been learning how to model for about 3 months [maya]. I'm posting here to motivate my self to work faster and better. I'm not trying to do a "boobtacular" model. ;)

It's all level 0. I plan on doing the arms and legs today, along with as much I can do with the hands and feet. Then I'll got to level 1 to tighten up the detail. And then I'll go to level 2, if needed. I don't plan on doing a head. I'm shooting for "pretty good" realism.

going to legs now.

what i see: Arms need some smooth at shoulder. need to get weird back bump out. I think the upper arms are to long compared to forearm. forearm needs rework. Hands would probably put into perspective. Something's not convincing about the breast area, although it could just need a nipple. All level 0; 710 faces.

what I see: Are legs to far down? See about stomach area. Any abs are for level 1, though. I think the rib cage might be to high up too. Need to put some feet and hands in to really check the arms and legs.

ah man. The hands are harder than they look :) Had less time to work today. Doing one finger and the thumb; will copy finger and tweak to fit. Still need to work on finger and thumb.

ill do the foot and finish off the hand early tmmrw. Then it'll be time for overall level0 refinement of the body (ribcage and waist esp.) I guess I'll UV map and then go onto the higher levels....

Looks very good, I'd like to see a nicely rendered pic, and a wire?

I think you could accentuate the hips and butt, she isn't very shapely at all, mostly the hips are bothering me. She looks very mannish, because of her lack of curves.

attached parts together. Knee area is way to sunken in and the pelvic area is to boxy. Foot is also kinda funky but I could never get that to work out right. Probably to flat.

going to texture now. I've taken this as far as I want to go. I'm going to treat subds as patches in my modelling so I have more control. I'm better that way anyway (although using subds like polys is faster).

Its about 3500 faces. The hands and feet are like 1000 or alone. Going to texture it. This is my first female model so I figure i'll get better as I do more models. Any more crits I get I'll apply towards future models as areas to watch out for.
