Within the next month, month and half im looking to buy a computer that will help me run both photoshop and lightwave. I would really like this to be a laptop but would go desktop if it would be much better. Right now I am looking to keep it under $2500. Becuase of that I have been looking alot at macs becuase I have a family memeber with a education discount and I really like the OS. If I go with a macbookpro I want a 17in so I would go with a refurb system. Outside of a mac I would like to try a dell as I can get a discount their as well.

Also is their a reason why its so expensive to add ram on a mac pro?
