View Full Version : moCAP realtime
hi!
does anybody knows how to
get motioncaptured data on a computer in realtime using 3dsmax.
for example: deforming a box (in3dsmax) through shaking my hand(in real life)
i would be very pleased if anybody could help me.
it's for an art project, therefor it shouldn't be to expensive.
thx spec

There's a Motion Capture tool in the Utility panel that will do this. You just hook it up to a mouse or joystick, then "record" your movements, and it makes the keyframes for you.

لل.
first off all thnaks again, but i think you missunderstood me(prob. my fault)
the setting.
a musician moves his hand(director) this
movement is filmend by(let's say a webcam)
now i want to "translate" the data so
i can work with it.
i.e.:i get the direection of the hand movement as an
booelean value or i get the position of the fingers as floating values.
something like that:buttrock:
mercy and best wishes

Well, that's going to be expensive.
These work without motion capture markers

If you want to use motion capture (markers, cameras, etc.) there are many options. But you're still talking expensive.
The last resort, and cheapest, is to hand-animate something in 3ds max to match the movement of the hand. Frame by frame. Slow and tedious, but not expensive.
