Hi! anyone using Painter 3d here? I would like to know how to stop the brushes from painting erratic "streaks" across my models. I just cant get it to do anything usefull at the moment.

is it UV mapped properly?

I suppose so. I Generate UVs and exported my mesh as an OBJ file. Painter can load the generated UVs, I just have to flip horizontally and rotate 180 and the map fits as expected.

If it wereŽnt for the unprecise brush strokes it would be usefull

You can't fix streaking when painting on the model. It's one of the bugs that never got fixed. Check the readme.

You'll have to find a way to deal with it. Either paint on the 2d canvas, which can suck for seams. Or you can try selections, which doesn't always work. Or find a 3d paint program with out this problem.

Hey man, glad to see there is some more painter3d guys out there, considering it is a great tool. There was an update to Painter3D that came out a while ago. You should definitly get it. I'm not quite sure were you can get it. I would check www.Pixels.net. If you can't find it today one their site, let me know. I have it, but I don't have it with me right now. I could send it to you tomarrow. I haven't had any problems with it at all. One of the original Unreal texture artists used Painter3d check his old site.

Hi Crazzylegs! YouŽve really raised my hopes for using Painter3d. Could you send me the Update? What bugsfixes/features are in the update?. I visited Pixels.net site but didŽnt find anything Painter related. Alternatively you could put it somewhere I can download from as a Zip file(PC/windows)

Thanks

I'm sorry, I tried looking on Versiontracker.com. (If your addicted to having the most up-to-date software this is the place to go). I couldn't find a Painter3D Update for the Windows version. They had a link, that said "Download Now", but it went to Corals web site. I haven't heard a thing from Coral in any magazines regaurding continued support for the program for a long time, if I remember correctly, but take a look at this link. Call the phone number that you get at the page the link takes you to, and maybe...just maybe they could get you in contact with the PC update....if one was made. It was a good program. It wasn't the "End all be all...I'll give up Photoshop for Painter3D program" but it has its plusses, especially if you haven't worked with any of the new Painter programs, you'll be having a lot of fun with a paint engine. I hope you can find something. I'll check to see if the PC Version of the update came with the Mac update..I doubt it though. Sorry about the delay in the response.

I'm don't know off hand what was fixxed with the update. I got Painter3D after the update came out, so I immediately downloaded it and never used the older version. Sorry again, about not being able to help you. If your able to find that update let me know.

The guys on the Pixels3D site that I used a ton (I used to use Pixels3D quiet a bit; still a great program, just under-advertised) said that you needed it for something. I will look as soon as I have free time for the exact reason on why you need it, or you could try to find it, but I know I have the docs as home. It just might be awhile before I have time to look at it. Sorry. Like I said earlier man. Keep me updated on your progress, it'd be nice see you get this thing going right. Given the plugin fixxes it. Pray hard buddy.

Just wondering if this patch ever surfaced.... I use Painter3D and would very much like to fix the problem mentioned above if there is a patch.

If anyone knows anything please email me thanks.

The patch solves more problems on the Mac platform than on the PC. It still performs erratically despite the update I decided to get Maxon Bodypaint( cool limitd offer going on) this really roxx!
