View Full Version : Smoothing Triangles in Sub-D: examples

I cant find the thread, but from time to time questions come up about using triangles in the pre-subdivided mesh, and concerns about smoothing.

You can use them just fine but they leave tend to be hard to control. To me its as if an inflated rubber baloon that has thin spots in it.

but you can see where splitting a quad into 4 triangles say over a knuckle could give you just the slight bulge you want, for a womans hand for instance.
