A flower I designed using Cinema4D, xfrog, and rendered in vray. This is a still of a 10 second animation.

I'm not sure if it's due to be from an animation and not a still image but there looks a little to much DoF, also the flower is a great model but the way you've rendered it makes the petals look very solid and not soft ! If the light was less harsh on the petals causing a more diffused highlight I think it would look softer ?
I had to render 300 frames, and without SSS and transparency, it took 90+ hours to render all the frames. So, due to time reasons, I had to sacrifice the softness. :(
The heavy DoF was a directive from the client.
Here was a previous still when I used a touch of SSS and trans, although I'm not sure it's very noticeable here. Also this was when we were looking at a more pastel palette...

well that's fair enough then, clients and render times mess everything up for all of us lol
