hi I have a terrian with some mountains and some fur attached to it for grass....its a poly plane btw. Anyway I'm trying to paint some trees and what not with Paint FX...however how do i get the brush to follow the contours of the mountain so that when I want to paint trees on a mountain it paint it to it...instead of inside the mountain

cheers

PaintFX only works on a NURBS surface. You need to make your landscape out of NURBS. Just create a NURBS plane and adjust CV's

you may quick draw curves on your poly-plane: make it live (the magnet icon) and draw many curmes with many (i mean lots) ov cv ('cos live to poly is'nt really good) then, loft your curves...
Make your new surfave paintable, and after drawing some grasss (...) toggle the primary visibility from the render stats tab 'cos it will only a "reference" to fake a paint on poly... maybe now the grass it's on your mountain..
