I really like the model. Are those bolts on the back of the head? if so a suggestion might be to put them a little closer to the skull. Hell of a good job!!!

I agree with Chips, it is pretty freaky! I like the sunken cheeks I think that is what makes it so strange looking. Look forward to seeing your progress

nice image so far... i think you should remove the bulge on the temple area and work on the clavicle, trapezius, and scapula defintion... at the moment they look weirdly inaccurate.

also theres some sharpness around the nostril which needs fixing.

heres some more extra ref for the neck/should area i'm talking about....

This is great stuff.

reminds me of the start of Ghost in the Shell when they are skinning the mech girl....

Youll have to animate this to do it justice

See u.

very nice concept and modeling, thumbs up!!! i got an idea about the design; maybe just a crab. but what about adding a single pony-tail like flexible tube extruding down out from the back skull with smooth curvature. maybe a couple. i think it will give more balance of your design especially for its side view. what 3d tool are you using for this? i'm using maya and my wire view looks little different from your wire image.

Thanks funkyfreebird!!!
Good ideia u gave to add in the model. This model was done in 3ds max5 but as im using maya now,i´ll try to animate in that.
Do u have any more comments about how to animate it in maya?

i used 3dmax a couple of years ago and am only using maya now. it's just because maya gives you more flexibility and chance of being creative in shading i guess. for animation of this skull set, i guess main muscles such as on jaw and mouth etc, which is the same as human, would be animated by typical quiate simple skull bone setting. and you use bland shape for facial animation. i don't think bone setting in maya is much different from max. see the help file. for those power cables, i guess spline IK or separate joint setting from skull joints would be enough to animate it. well, it would hardly be controlled together with skull i think so timing will be a kind of key factor for natural looking movement of the cable. secondary action of the cable resulting in skull movement will be another key factor as well. keep up man. i think you are doing very good job. i really like the style of your model so i want to share your and my inspiration. i just added you to my buddy list, you mind? come see my thread and why don't you give me your valuable c&c?

i love it :) nice work
but may i give you a piece of advice, dont make the model totaly simetrycal, choose a side and put somethink on. make it more realystik that way

BruceSouza

Thanks for the advice, pimeto. It´s another good suggest i´ll try put.
funkyfreebird, the problem of the animation with this model is that it´s a mix of human and a machine,so it can´t be a human animation. As im still leaning about facial animations i have to see how could i make a good way to simulate the jaw, that it´s the mechanic part and the rest of the face that is human.Blend shape would be a good way to do this, but do u or anyone know another way to do a good animation for that?
And funkyfreebird,do u have and site where i could see your works?I only saw the shoes u did.
See u!

i think human looking part including the jaw can be animated with blend shape while rest mechanic part like the cables to be animated with common joint animation using spline IK i guess. but probably the cables and the rest mechanic part needs to be a separate object from the human for separate motion control. and make the location of mechanic part to be subject to the human part. it's just my idea. other guys could give better idea. good luck man. i'm constructing my own homepage that i'm planning to open sometime in March. for my work, i will keep posting my latest progress onto cg talk. you can see my other thread here ; http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=114693
