This is a model I'm working on for my BFA project. It's still rough and I'm still adding all the details to it.

The issues I'm having right now are
1. The "glare" on the paint looks random, no matter how I place the lights (two area lights)
2. The spotted shading around the car.

Any C&C are appreciated

I like the shape of the car but it still needs a lot of work ;)

Bix :

Your car is going well, but I would say try to exaggerate your car's cosmetics just a bit. Your car almost seems like an aerodynamic brick.

Towards lighting, check this site out, http://www.3dcar.kg/ . Just take a look around and stare at the tutorial, this should give you a lighting idea! In short for cars to look kew, it's usually just turn down the specular, and crank up the reflection, with fresnel surface. Ahhh that site will talk a little about it!

cool, thanks for the site. This model is just without all the detail so I can focus on the shader itself, I'll post it when I finish it this weekend.

Ahem... If I may please..

The shape isn't to well.. This should be better I think. Your car design needs a longer hood and the car misses a intersection between the front- and backside of the windows....

Please take a look and see for yourself..>>

Or isn't this at all what you had in mind????
Then i'm sorry..

This is a good point. I'm working on some of these issues right now, I was mainly testing the shader so I left out most of the details to better illustrate this. I will put up a newer version when I have more time to work on it.
