Hey, nice progress. However i do think it could use some more 'definition' here and there. Maybe add more control edges to tighten up the mesh.

Excellent pace! I agree with a previous poster that a few more edges would probably benefit the shape, at the moment some of the surface curves are not as smooth as they could be, gives the metal a bit of a melted or soft look.

Looking forward to your progress :)

really great work I have just a feeling that something is wrong in proportions in two points :

1) hips seem a bit too wide compared to the rest
2) legs are too long compared with the upper part of the body

well actually these are just my feelings looking at it and I could be wrong since I am just looking screenshots.

Anyway, really great work in such little time and I love those details on the arms and hands.

I agree that the hips do look a little wide but I think that the legs are just the right length. But that is juts my opinion. Great job Jeep!

I really wasn't sure about that head until I saw the render of it; to me, in the working-screens he looks... Surprised, for lack of a better word. But it really comes together when it's lit, and all those ridges do their job of casting the shadows! Very well-done.

Will he be posed in the final render?

thanks dudebot and chrisbeaver!

I like the war torn scene to an extent but for that exact reason it doesn't look right with just him in the scene, no other tanks or bodies or terminators, and he hasn't got a weapon ( which he did in the film I think ).

However all that said, you don't want to detract from the modelling and effort you've put into him, which is also getting lost in the amount of smoke / fog around his lower legs, there is a lot of detail there which has just vanished. And his eyes are glowing a bit too much, they look better in the scene before.

Have you got time to model a gun ? Or put him in a simpler scene, perhaps a more close up shot of him in a destroyed building ? which will take up the background without any distance like your current scene and also it won't be too busy to distract from him...

Good luck, it's a good model with some nice details !

I think eyeayen may be right. It only personal opinion but there is a lot of relatively empty real estate around which does detract from you excellent model ..
and the fog kind of hides the feet too much.

I took the liberty of doing this to your render to give you an idea of what i mean. I cropped the image and adjusted the levels in PS to try and bring the model out from the background.

The "skull" stands out like a sore thumb. The teeth are perhaps the first thing I would change - the sets need closing together. The rest of the body is fine.

Burn the midnight oil, get some good reference for the skull and then follow Simjoy's advice.

Best of luck mate.
