Christopher Short is a freelance illustrator for many major magazines, book publishers and corporations. Places where his work has been seen include Newsweek, the Discovery Channel, National Geographic Explorer, The Zak Files (Disney/Fox), and projects for MGM Pictures. He recently did numerous technical diagrams to assist firefighters at Ground Zero of the WTC in locating utilities. NewTek was able to catch up with Christopher at the last New York Society of Illustrators meeting, where he shared some insight into the world of 3D Illustration.

Newtek should invite this great artist to speak at their booth at SIGGRAPH in San Diego.

It would be awesome pr for them.

I know proton is a hardcore lightwave guy, but could we possibly see some other interviews from max/maya users as well? Seems like the board is getting a bit biased in the way of these interviews with both proton and leigh ;)

uh....Proton works for NewTek so why would he interview a Max or Maya user? That's alias and discreet's job.

mattregnier - I don't think I have ever plugged an interview

Also, people are perfectly welcome to post links to ANY interviews at ANY time, and if they are cool, of course they will get plugged :)

We just don't get a lot of interviews being linked from here I guess... I think it might possibly be because Leonard has been away and Tito has been really busy, so 3D Festival hasn't done many interviews lately.

They needed it by 7:00 PM at the latest. Thanks to LightWave and my dual processors, it wasn’t a problem to render the 2400 x 3150 image in time!

LOL sounds like a commercial from the fifties

edit: no disrespect to mr Short intended

Congratulations to Proton on a VERY fine interview. I hope this marks a change for the kind of interviews Newtek is doing from now on.
