Just started the top tier of various aliens that I hope to "tree" out once I get some feedback from my professor and peers.

I decided to go for a tree guy. I plan on getting a critique from my professor on it though because I'm also working on this image for my illustration final.

So my professor gave me a crack over the head for the last image. So in the interest of not failing the class I did a complete redraw of the image. Um. Its kind'uv lacking a background element at the moment but I should be able to get something in there by the final deadline.

Great job on your tree alien design, its one of the most interesting I've seen so far. You've got some great colour choices and brush work as well. Good luck finishing it by the deadline.

Hey thanks. I was worried about doing a tree image because I still wanted it to feel like an alien instead of something like a forest spirit or a treant.

Okay, I spent some more time on the piece and added a bit more luscious details into the bark and I've added some suitable grain into the image to finish it off. Also, I decided the mcdonalds bag felt a bit too much like an afterthought so I added a nice little french fry. My sister pointed out that it didn't have a mouth.... but.... its an alien, right?
