Hi there,

I'm a bit of a newb to both XSI and rigging and thought I could ask here?
I have a mesh to rig and want to use character tools, such as biped guide and rig
and things like that..

Can't figure out what the best model resolution is for rigging and doing the envelope.
I much prefer using a 10000 poly mesh resolution but am wondering if this is practical?
Do I have to use a lower poly base to make adjusting envelopes easier, or are higher poly meshes on for rigging as well?

Would love some advice.

Or maybe it's best to just rig at lower res and use gator to transfer the rig
to the refined mesh?

I think I'm going probably going this route. Would love to hear something on this.

sure use a lower res version for skinning.

at work we use gator to transfer from a default skinned mesh to the production mesh butfinal tweaks still have to happen on the high res produciton mesh.

Hey Strang :buttrock:

Thanks that was mighty sweet.
Looks like I can't go wrong now, checking for any tweaking needed after Gator then.
Goin nuts with all the technical stuff :argh:
