I’m using Max 5.1, after experiencing a bad crash two weeks ago I have been having problems animating modifiers. Let’s say I have an object and I want to apply a noise modifier to it, and I’d like to animate the strength of that noise modifier. I do so and everything look’s ok until either I try to duplicate that object, or if I close the program and restart max. Then the object with the noise modifier is invisible. This is a definite bug.
I have also reinstalled max since the severe crash but the same problems still occur.
I have supplied an example file with two plane objects in the scene, one has noise applied to it, and the other does not. If you don’t see two objects that is because the one with noise on it is invisible. Type your “H” key to select the invisible plane and turn off the noise modifier, you’ll notice it reappears ….. but obviously I cannot render it our with my animated noise turned on.
May I need to uninstall max again? Is there a possibility that I missed a few damaged files when removing max the first time? Should I be uninstalling by using the CD? Or just going through the windows 2000 control panel add/remove programs (which is how I removed max the first time)
Another thing to note is the major error that I was experiencing after the crash was my license had corrupted and the request code for authorizastion was different from the first time I installed, thus my old auth code didn’t work. Could this have something to do with it?
Any help would be very much appreciated.
