Hello Dudes,

here is a near final model of F-117. Currently I`m working on wheel systems. Looking for some good textures for modeling of Airport scene. C&C are welcomed.

Rendered with MAX5 standard Ligh Tracer

Looks very good, but as a WIP, would indeed be better in WIP.:)

What they said :)

Excellent detail!!
Just some of the detail is raised a too much tho'. Remember it's a stealth plane, and any bump is creates an echo on radar. So even if these details are raised on the real thing, keep the amount absolute tiny - less than say 1-2 mm...

Model is mighty fine! Agree with Skyraider about not going overboard on the raising of the deatils, i would also double check the spacing and angle on the stabilators (rear fins) they look a lil too upright and close together to me, but its been awhile since i have been around them. I pretty sure they partial shield over the exhaust. you might want to double check against a good orthgraphic, there are tons of good and bad ones on the web.
A verrry nice model...im jealous even haha....now if i can only get my glostes gladiator to shape up.....

Wow!! Awesome detail, you put my Nighthawk to shame! -I'm glad to see you've included the sphere in the nose... what does it do, anyway, is it the radar?

Keep it up!

The only thing that looks to me like it might be too raised, is the greeblie thing around the sphere. The rest looks pretty darn accurate.

Trust me, I've been looking at a zillion F-117 photos lately!

edit: d'oh, I just remembered Danoku is the dude who took aerial photos of these things for a living! That makes him pretty darn reliable, I guess... Hell, he propably took the pictures I used for reference! ;)

I agree with you. The only thing that looks a bit more higher is "the greeblie thing around the sphere" Other things I thinks are right. I`ve used quite a lot of referencers. And when I`ll put there some materials (I mean that black texture)

Hope it will be finished soon.

Cockpit isn`t done yet. And there will be probbably just a texture. But I can render it close up. But it will be tommorow, I only have it at home.

Wassup, no more updates? Your Skoda looks kickass (never thought I'd say that about a Skoda! ;)), but I'm dying to see the Nighthawk finished...

Sorry, .. I have about 6 hours (maximum) a day to work on all my projects. But I`m working on it. Have finished front wheel system, and I`m working on rear ones.

I`ll try to post some update.

Have a look here to get an even better feel for the raised detail stuff :)

It's indeed mostly the rim around the IR "eye" that's OTT, although (apart from the cockpit area) the F-117 is pretty smooth all-over.
