View Full Version : ultra cool HDRI rendering of ... a glass
This was a very difficult image to make... I had to model a glass and some ice cubes... I also had to use an HDRI image and check some boxes to enable super duper rendering quality... 9 hours later I have a glass that looks real...all in all I'd say my modeling and lighting skills are a lot better....what else could I have done in 9 hours anyway?

Hey WU`,
that's one of the best 3d renders I've seen - ever! I especially like the surrealistic touch you gave the image by letting the icecubes stick to the glasses bottom instead of letting them float at the drink's surface like they would in "real life".

Wow, some people are just a disgrace to the 3D community. Wu, you really don't deserve this kind of critisizm and I'm surprised to see such rude attitudes coming from people in what I thought was a mature environment/community.
Whether you like it or not, it is Art and all art should be respected whether you think its ugly or not. If you don't like it then give helpful suggestions, and not demoralizing and critical, degrading comments that can hurt an individual deeply.
I just recently joined this community and seeing the comments a few individuals made in this thread greatly disturb me and hope devastating comments like this don't run muck around here and simply hope this community isn't a corrupt one.
"It is true though, the more people you have in a community, the more idiots you will have"
BTW, shy and with the low self esteem I already have for my own artwork, I can honestly say that such negative comments towards somebodies work greatly discourages me from posting my own work.

No need to get your knickers in a knot there, bucko. The original poster was obviously poking fun at the "HDRI = Perfect Render" crowd. If anything, you should be laughing at the clay-brained knuckle draggers who actually thought this thread was serious!

I don't know which people Cyborgguineapig adressed as a disgrace to the 3d-community. Now I don't wanna step on anybodies feet but to me it's pretty clear that WU' wanted to get some funny or strange remarks for his Image.
