Either just double click on the tool you want to use and the tool option pops up (or replaces the channelbox if you have that in your preferences).

Or click on the middle icon on the right side of the status line. That brings you to the tool options.

Or in the menu choose Windos/Settings/preferences/Tool Settings. To make a hot key this is where you want to look (in the hotkey editor under Window sixth paragraph=TookSettingsWindow. Assign key to this one).

it can be done

go in window/setting/Preferences/hotkeys

and change your world / local axis to anything you like

you can also access those with " W + LMB "

you can actually change the settings with a pop-up menu like the compass menus in the hotbox. just hold the w, e, or r key down (depending on which operation you want to use) and click and hold the left mouse button. This brings up a menu that lets you very quickly set Local, World, etc for that tool. It's nice because you don't have to use a hotkey for it, and it lets you go beyond only changing local/world.

Peace,

thats freakin cool :)
didnt know that either

ah and when you really want a hotkey. Open the script editor. Enable "echo all commands" and do your changes. Now MMB drag the lines that where echod to the Command window of The Hotkey Editor. I think you can do custom ones if you choose category User and the new. That should do it
