looking good so far... i can see this is going to be one highly detailed model when it's done... it's even got goodyear bumps on the tires already! (it needs a valve cap though... doesn't matter how cool your car is if it's got flats cos you got crud in the valve).

Hi Thierry,

A question about the orange/yellow light (not sure how you would call it in English, but you would know it as "le clignoteur"): I have the impression one of the enclosing polygons is not a quad but an n-gon. Could you enlarge that part a bit? I'm curious to see how you solved that.

Cheers,
BaRa

I didn't know we had ngons :surprised

n-gon: the name for a polygon with more than 4 points,

like the car, it's coming on well, maybe change the colour though.

I think who ever coined that term should have looked up polygon in the dictionary before hand.

The model seems to be coming along great, although Im not sure of the amount of detail a real car has. It sure seems like your car is headed for a very realistic amount of detail. Good job so far :) and good luck for the rest to come.

Looking good!!

do you have to say it's a polygon with more than 4 sides then?

He just meant that "poly" means "several" (more than 2 actually), not "less than 4".
I wonder what would be the greek root for expressing "more than 4" ?
:D

congrats Thierry, such a nice job.
So many frenchies here...

Thanks Thierry,

I like the car, but I just wasn't sure on how you solved the orange light. I first thought it was a recessed part of the surface, but it looks like the light was put on top of the car body. Thanks for the close-up :-)

And to whom it may concern: we don't have polygons with more than 4 edges in C4D, just as we do not have polygons with less than 3. And it will take a long time before we will have those polygons with more than 4 edges or 4 vertices (aka n-gons). I have the impression it would take Maxon the larger part of a year to implement this, and in my opinion (and probably theirs too), that part of the year could be used for more useful changes to our most favorite application.

Cheers,
BaRa

thanks a lot

For the indicator, I placed a polygonal object, and on the body, I placed a bump at the good place I hope that you will understand what I write
:hmm:
